Meet Your Teacher

Leroy Hyson II

Leroy is the Music Director, Producer, Arranger, and Bass for the viral acapella, The Trills.

Leroy co-founded The Trills in 2015 and went on to competing in the International Championship of Collegiate Acapella (ICCA) from years 2017-2019. In those three years, Leroy helped lead the group to 2 Finals and 3 Semi Finals. He was also awarded a total of 5 Outstanding Arrangement Awards in those 3 years of competing.

Since 2019, Leroy and The Trills have since graduated and transitioned from a collegiate acapella group to a professional group that has headlined anywhere from national acapella festivals to the Kansas City Chief's Christmas Halftime Show.

Aside from growing a following of over 3 Million, Leroy is most proud of the way The Trills has arranged their music for the past 8 years. Since their genesis, Leroy and The Trills have arranged all of their music without any sheet music. Between arranging in a circle and Leroy (or Will Damanka) recording their arrangements in Logic Pro X, The Trills have learned all of their music without using a single sheet a paper (or PDF).
